Our Tour of Scotland  2000

Scotland 2003 photos

In 2000 we decided to give France a miss and drive to Scotland where the weather was a bit mixed. We stayed at a variety of sites from Camping Club Temporary Holiday sites at £4 per night, to Caravan Club sites at up to £11 (more with electric hookup!)

Site Our opinions
Camping & Caravanning Club THS
Robertston
 Hawick
A pleasantly located temporary site on a farm field with the usual friendly welcome from stewards and other campers

CC Certificated Location
 between Anstruther and Crail
nr St Andrews

Farmsite field with tall grass and view of usual farmyard junk!
Forest Enterprise
Glen Doll
Kirriemuir
Overnight stay in Forest car park for £3. There is a lightweight camping field nearby. Drinking water needs boiling so best to top up tank before arrival

Camping & Caravanning Club Site
 Tarland
Aboyne

Pleasant site with good facilities. Not very busy for August. The Highland Games at Aboyne on 1st weekend in August was worth visiting.
Caravan Club Site
The Invercauld
Braemar
good CC site but busy. Good walks, cycling and drives in local area.
