Delft and the Kröller-Müller Museum | Nederlands Openlucht museum | Some old towns then into Germany |
After
a night stop at a CL near Harwich we took the seven and a half hour
daytime crossing to the Hook of Holland and drove a short distance to
Delft where we had booked our first night's stay at the popular Delftse
Hout campsite near the town centre. We then drove across country to a
campsite at Otterlo in the Hoge Veluwe National Park near the
Kröller-Müller sculpture park and art gallery. From there we also
visited the Nederlands Openlucht museum (similar to Beamish museum in
the UK) just north of Arnhem for another
interesting day. We read about a motorhome aire at Elburg, just inland from the Veluwemeer and IJsselmeer, so headed there for a pleasant day before turning south to the German border and a night in Kleve before returning home, taking the overnight crossing from Rotterdam to Hull. Our planned meander through Germany and Northern France will have to wait for another year. |
